Come celebrate small-scale poultry and learn the how-to’s and why’s, with an opportunity to taste-compare ‘commercially’ raised to small-scale raised chicken eggs. In the morning, we will eggsplore eggs and chicken production. Then in the afternoon, we'll enjoy a taste of chicken expertly prepared by two chefs from San Francisco, Tony Ferrari and Jonathon Sutton from the Hillside Supper Club. We will also take a field trip to Frizelle-Enos Co. to discuss feeds and purchasing heritage breeds; then we'll walk to several downtown coops already happily clucking along. Michael and Dana Yares of My Urban Farm will be on hand to discuss coop design and building. And finally, there will be a demonstration on how to process your backyard chickens with appropriate technology.
This special outing will be limited to a small group to assure plenty of individual Q&A time and hands-on involvement.

Where: We'll meet at Valhalla Gardens - 245 Ferguson Road - Sebastopol
