Mushroom Event MAY 25th


MUSHROOMS FROM A BAG THIS Saturday, May 25 - 3 pm to 7 pm 
A Family Event at the New Carpati Farm, Sebastopol  
  

Join Steve Schwartz - founder of Farmlink and the Interfaith Sustainable Food Collaborative - on his family farm overlooking the Laguna De Santa Rosa for an afternoon of Slow Food conviviality, play, and food that is good, clean, and fair. New Carpati Farm has chickens, polycerate Jacob sheep, and grows berries, and mushrooms.

Learn how to grow mushrooms from a bag.  Make your own oyster mushroom growing kit, and learn how to take care of it, or bring home a pound of New Carpati shitake and oyster mushrooms. 

• Also will include comparative mushroom tasting, contrasting shitake with two varieties of oyster mushrooms. 


FOOD :
Pizza with and w/o mushrooms will be served with chef Rick Rozet's famous pizza crust. Salad with greens grown on-site from Brad Thompson's Roots of Creation Farm.

COST : Slow Food Member (or join at the door)
Price includes your self-made mushroom kit or 1 lb of musrooms plus pizza and salad - $ 30
Student, with mushroom kit ( under 22 ) - $20     Chlldren under 12 - $5


This is a BYO beverage, BYO place setting, and BYO musical instrument event. 
Parking is limited so please carpool. Park on the street at the end of this cul-de-sac if the lot has filled up.

For this event at least one member of your party needs to be a Slow Food member. You can join at the door. Yearly membership fee is $25. This supports our work to make our food system good, clean, and fair.
