Event - Cheese Tasting! April 14th

Slow Food Russian River Presents: "It all starts with the grass - Cheese Tasting"
We will taste cheeses from:
  • Two Rock Creamery - Italian style goat cheeses
  • Bohemian Creamery - cow, sheep, and goat cheeses
  • Weirauch Farm and Creamery - cow and fresh sheep cheeses
The cheese makers from these farms will be with us to talk about their practices and the terroir of their cheeses.
Colette Hatch, Madame de Fromage, will talk about all these cheeses and the local cheese movement in Sonoma County.
Craig Ramini, who is raising water buffaloes locally and will be making the first local mozzarella cheese soon, will also talk with us.

We will pair different cheeses with beers from Russian River Brewery, with a variety of mostly local wines, with locally made preserves from Merrilee Olson, and with honey and honeycomb from Hector's Honey.
    Wines include:
  • Reverdy Sancerre France
  • Porter Creek Chardonnay Russian River Valley (Biodynamic)
  • Steen Chenin Blanc Dry Creek Valley
  • Paul Matthew Pinot Noir Green Valley
  • Petrichor Grenache Blend Mayacamas (Organic)
Everyone who attends will have tasting forms to record their responses to the different tastes and pairings.

Members: $25  *Non-members: $30
